Company Overview

Scott Gordon, President of EBCx Services has more than 40 years of experience in the mechanical contracting and energy services industries. Scott started his career as an HVAC apprentice in 1973, working his way up to journeyman, then holding a Florida Class “A” Certified Air Conditioning Contractor License in 1981. Scott grew up in the air conditioning contracting business, learning the trade from his father Cal Gordon, founder of Tropic Air Conditioning in Miami, Fl.

Scott’s wide range of HVAC contracting and energy conservation expertise includes construction, service, RCx, and optimizing mechanical systems. In addition, he has a diverse background and extensive training in the following: mechanical and control system design/installation/commissioning, testing, adjusting and balancing of complex mechanical systems, diagnosing and resolving indoor air quality problems, performing energy audits, project management, and the implementation of mechanical retrofits and energy conservation projects.

Scott is a Certified Professional with NEBB under the disciplines of TAB, Commissioning, Retro Commissioning, and Building Enclosure Testing, and holds multiple certifications through the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Additionally, Scott holds Tridium Niagara 4 Technical Certification, LEED AP Operations + Maintenance credential with the USGBC, and a Certificate Member (CM) certification with the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES).

Terry E. Townsend

Terry E. Townsend, P.E., Fellow ASHRAE, President of Townsend Engineering Inc., Chattanooga, TN, and Panama City, FL. Townsend Engineering is a strategic partner with EBCx Services, providing over 40 years of mechanical engineering experience in a wide range of facilities including schools, labs, healthcare, and office buildings. Terry is a licensed P.E. in 22 states and is a NEBB Certified Professional under the disciplines of Building System Commissioning and Retro Commissioning. Terry earned both a BSME and an MSME from TENN. TECH. UNIVERSITY (1971 and 1973 respectively).

Terry is an International Past President of ASHRAE (2006-2007), and an active member in multiple ASHRAE Technical Committees. Terry has a passion for "A Sustainable Future", which was his theme during his ASHRAE Presidency. Terry is a sought out industry speaker on energy efficiency and was chosen to serve on the TVA Energy Program Advisory Board and other professional committees. His unique design applications and corresponding cost reductions have been documented in articles by TSPE, CET, and various institutional and medical facility operational reports.

Terry has conducted training seminars both nationally and internationally on "How to Make Existing Buildings More Efficient, Healthy and Comfortable" and "Solutions for Building Performance & Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Problems".
